WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS Liturgist
PRELUDE Liturgist
OPENING SENTENCES (Responsive) Liturgist
Gathered in from many lands,
we come from east and west, from north and south.
Some of us have wandered through deserts.
Some of us are hungry and thirsty.
But the Holy One heard our pleas
and has delivered us from our distress.
So we come with prayers of thanksgiving,
for God’s steadfast love endures forever.
HYMN #439 In Christ There is No East or West
CONFESSION AND PARDON (Responsive) Liturgist
Praise is on our lips, but in our hearts we know how far we have fallen from the glory of God.
Yet God meets us in our sin, picks us up, and promises forgiveness.
Let us make our confession and open ourselves to God’s mercy.
Faithful God, we confess our faithlessness. Our hearts are fickle, our eyes wander,
and we trick ourselves into serving other gods. We speak lies, accept lies, live lies,
destroying others and ourselves along the way. Forgive our waywardness and lead us back to you. Embolden our trust in your faithfulness and settle your truth in our hearts.
SILENT PRAYERS OF CONFESSION MAY BE OFFERED
God’s steadfast love endures forever. Beyond the cross, beyond the grave, beyond our sin,
God’s steadfast love endures forever. This is good news!
In Jesus Christ we are forgiven!

HYMN #333 Seek Ye First
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH: Apostles’ Creed: (Unison)
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen
